As previewed by Pat Jeffery, the out-going President, this year has been an exciting one for U3A
Clarence with the successful transfer of operations from the Warrane Adult Education Campus to
the Rosny LINC. Much of this success has been due to the planning and continued support from Pat
and the Committee, and their loyal band of supporters. The new Centre has provided us with many challenges, but we have generally been able to meet them by the cooperation of members and the assistance afforded by LINC staff especially Julia Goss for day to day matters, and Rhona Lindsay for the larger challenges. We are very appreciative of the early access to the site which assists members to feel at home, but no doubt increases the challenges for the Library staff. Please note that the Library shelves are out of bounds before 0930hrs, even for browsing. Please accept this requirement and use the Library space only to access rooms MFS1 and MFS2. Rooms M1 and 2 are available before 0930; you could even help to set up tables and chairs, and have a chat to friends. Social activities seem to have been very successful this past term. Thanks to Lyn Edgerton. I think you will all agree that Lesley Thomson has done a wonderful job with the choices for term 2. Do remember we have a meeting of all members on Wed 30 June- a Program Planning meeting to which you are all welcome to have your say and perhaps volunteer as a tutor. I trust you continue to enjoy your U3A Clarence in its new location. Be sure to tell your friends about us. The library staff have copies of an Information Handout, and copies of this Newsletter will also be available from them. | ||
